projects

Idlenet - my next game, an idle/incremental merging game made with LÖVE in lua.

i swear im working on this game
(almost 500 commits now since starting the repo in 2022! and the game’s still not done!)

boring work continues, but something i can show is an updated colour palette, based off of the old macintosh 8bit palettes. the colouring was due for another refactoring since it didn’t support theming. with how it’s implemented now, it should be fairly trivial to implement custom themes for the game. also check out how less flat the game looks now, almost like it is its own program now :)

work in progress

aside from the game’s logo (still TBD/subject to change), all of the UI elements including the gradients are drawn with love.graphics calls. I may have been overusing the gradient technique first outlined in the first Idlenet log, but I think it looks good. i may look into adding a dithering effect for the main panel background color, but it will probably look like shit when its not at exact integer scaling

I finally got around to making my own colorscheme for neovim, which i have been using for almost a year now (the first commit to my nvim config repo is from may 2024). well it’s not really my own since it’s just a port of a vs code theme that i like called sema. check it out on github

i’m still undecided on if i should archive previous entries for this page. probably not though, i can just look at the git history

Footnotes

  1. there is also a feature on this song from Despot, whose voice I have not heard since the bonus track from Run the Jewels 2 (2014) and billy woods’s 2022 album Aethiopes, this dude’s still got it and he never drops. it’s like any album he appears on is gonna be gold
